LEN may be the real Satoshi Nakamoto
An upcoming HBO documentary may finally reveal the answer
Here’s why this might be true, and what it means for your Bitcoin:
Len has been very privacy-conscious since childhood and firmly believes that the Internet needs to be protected from prying eyes.
During college, he worked at Mixmaster
Email anonymizer that hides the sender's identity
But this is just the beginning...
As he gets older, Len continues to develop privacy tools
He also worked as a security researcher at KU Leuven
But during this time, something else was brewing in the cryptography community...
In 2008, Satoshi Nakamoto published the Bitcoin white paper
A document that changed the world
The design of Bitcoin required a deep understanding of cryptography and decentralized systems, and Sassaman clearly had these skills.
But that’s not enough, is it?
In 2009, Bitcoin was launched
A quiet revolution has begun
Satoshi Nakamoto remains anonymous, communicating with early adopters online
Len Sassaman was there, working closely with his friend Hal Finney….
Who is Hal?
Hal is not an ordinary user
He received the first Bitcoin transaction from Satoshi Nakamoto
Hal is also one of the earliest Bitcoin developers and a friend of Len
But in 2011, something mysterious happened.
Satoshi Nakamoto disappeared without leaving any explanation or trace
Just before disappearing, he uttered these cryptic words:
“I’ve moved on to other things and probably won’t be here again in the future.”
Just a few months later, in July 2011, Len Sassaman died
His wife claimed he committed suicide.
Some see this as the last act for privacy
Methods to ensure his Satoshi identity remains hidden forever
Soon after Len was immortalized on Bitcoin
Dan Kaminsky and Travis Goodspeed created this tribute in block 138725
The main counter-argument is his wife’s claim that Len is not Satoshi.
But she said that was "to the best of her knowledge"
She later admitted that she had not checked all the hard drives at the time.
So what happens if HBO proves that Len is Satoshi?
I think this is good news for Bitcoin
Why?
Because Len is no longer here.
The Bitcoin community can finally shut up
