Hoback is known for his series “Q: Into the Storm”, which exposed the authors of the QAnon conspiracy theory, for which he received critical acclaim.

Now, more than unmasking, Hoback’s mission was precisely to reveal the identity of the mysterious creator of Bitcoin, who disappeared from the scene in 2010.

But what would happen to the crypto market and beyond if the true identity of Satoshi Nakamoto were revealed?

Satoshi Nakamoto: HBO promises to reveal the identity of the mysterious creator of Bitcoin

The question about the true Satoshi Nakamoto has interested the crypto community for years, so much so that several situations have occurred in this regard.

In fact, among the first suspects of being the creator of Bitcoin was Hal Finney, who passed away 10 years ago. Given his contribution from the beginning and the strong pressure to identify with a name and surname who the creator of BTC was, Finney has often been associated with Nakamoto.

In reality, Finney is the man behind the first P2P transaction ever conducted on the Bitcoin blockchain.

For years, there was Craig Wright who posed as the true creator of Bitcoin since 2016. The Australian computer scientist carried out a real campaign to convince the world that he was Satoshi Nakamoto, but the evidence exposed him. And indeed, after a long 8 years, a judge of the British High Court ruled that Wright was not Satoshi Nakamoto.

Among the people most commonly suspected of being Satoshi are also the systems engineer Dorian Nakamoto, the computer scientist Nick Szabo, and the inventor of Hashcash Adam Back. We will see if the name that HBO will reveal is one of these.

Suspicious reactions: four Bitcoin wallets from the Satoshi era awakened

While there are those who argue that one should respect Satoshi Nakamoto’s choice to remain anonymous, there are others who can’t wait to discover his true identity.

In general, a revelation of Nakamoto’s identity could become a reason for upheavals, not only in thoughts but also in prices in the crypto market.

Who knows if the trailers and various announcements of the new HBO documentary have already been the cause of some situations.

Recently, in fact, a wallet created at the end of January 2009, during the era of Nakamoto, has awakened. It is a wallet that on January 29, 2009, had received 50 BTC by mining a block. Considering that the first block of the Bitcoin Blockchain was mined by Nakamoto on January 3, 2009, this wallet is certainly owned by someone close to Nakamoto.

In any case, that wallet has transferred its funds to a new SegWit address. It should be noted that today those 50 BTC are worth more than 3 million dollars.

This wallet is not the only one to have awakened. In fact, Bitcoin Magazine points out that there are another 4 wallet addresses from the Nakamoto era that have transferred a total of 250 BTC. The total value of the transfers was almost 16 million dollars.

The relationship of these movements with the upcoming airing of the new HBO documentary is a gamble, and not an official connection.Â
