According to CoinDesk, after a major group supported by the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) approved guidelines for the use of tokenized money market funds, companies such as BlackRock and Franklin Templeton may see tokenized shares of their money market funds used for trading.
A subcommittee of the CFTC’s Global Markets Advisory Committee voted to send the recommendations to the full committee, which is expected to vote on them later this year, according to two people familiar with the matter. The report did not reveal specific recommendations, but the mere act of sending them to the full committee could be seen as a next step.
