PANews reported on October 3rd that according to The block, a federal appeals court ruled that the prediction market platform Kalshi can continue to launch contracts to allow election betting. In an opinion submitted to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit, Judge Patricia Millett ruled that the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) failed to prove that "the public will suffer irreparable losses if the appeal is not suspended." The CFTC and Kalshi have been in litigation since the end of last year when the CFTC stated that Kalshi could not provide contracts related to "congressional controlled contracts."

Earlier news, the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) warned that "election gambling activities are about to explode" in the United States and asked the appeals court to extend the suspension of the prediction market platform Kalshi until the agency's appeal hearing is completed.
