According to ChainCatcher, Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim said that the country will set up a National Artificial Intelligence Office to coordinate initiatives around the development of artificial intelligence.

It also announced a national cloud computing policy plan aimed at improving public service innovation, economic growth, competitiveness and digital inclusion, which will prioritize data security and user trust to ensure that all citizens can benefit from technological advances. The National Artificial Intelligence Office is tasked with completing a five-year technology "action plan" and a regulatory framework next year, which will help promote the adoption of ethical and sustainable artificial intelligence.
