A group of diverse Web3 and DeFi industry leaders wrote a letter requesting a meeting with the campaign policy team of U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris and her running mate Tim Walz this month to discuss the importance of developing policy and regulatory frameworks for Web3 and DeFi to promote innovation in the United States. The signatories of the letter include Cleve Mesidor, founder of WOC Blockchain, Olayinka Odeniran, founder of the Black Women Blockchain Committee, and Tonya Evans, professor at the Dickinson School of Law at Pennsylvania State University. The letter also mentioned that black, Latino, Asian, and indigenous communities were the first groups to adopt cryptocurrencies and are still one of the largest user groups of cryptocurrencies.
