The National Association of Entrepreneurs of Uzbekistan has issued a clarification regarding the Hamster Kombat airdrop and legal operations with tokens $HMSTR .

Citizens will be able to buy or sell coins only through national cryptocurrency service providers (exchanges and exchangers), which will add them to the listing.

The regulator warned of the high volatility of such assets and potential devaluation “due to the lack of useful functionality.”

“We ask our fellow citizens not to trust information about the Hamster Kombat project obtained through unofficial sources, as well as individuals offering their services for the purchase/sale of these tokens, so as not to become victims of fraudulent schemes,” the NAPP noted.

The agency reminded about the responsibility for violating the legislation in the sphere of crypto assets circulation. Their illegal acquisition, sale or exchange is prohibited in the country. Such activity is punishable by administrative arrest for up to 15 days or a fine of 20 to 30 BRV.

The airdrop and listing of the Hamster Kombat token took place on September 26. 131 million users took part in the distribution, among whom the developers distributed 75 billion coins.

In an article for Forbes, Yuri Brisov, a partner at Digital & Analogue Partners, compared the Play-to-Earn model underlying Hamster Kombat to a financial pyramid, since the project offers income for attracting new participants. According to him, the main problems of "tapalok" remain the shortcomings of tokenomics, dependence on a constant influx of new users, and the lack of legal protection for players.

In June, a 24-year-old student was arrested in Uzbekistan for 10 days for selling a token $NOT of the Web3 gaming project Notcoin. The court also ordered the destruction of the Galaxy A30 smartphone and the bank plastic card used to carry out the transactions.
