Crypto security researcher Roffett.eth noted that the “trending” list on the GMGN memecoin analysis site is being used by scammers. Scammers create coins that allow the developer to transfer users’ tokens to them. These coins are put on the trending list with fake volumes, and users buy these coins thinking they are popular. However, soon the tokens are stolen from their wallets. Roffett cited examples of malicious coins such as Robotaxi, DFC, and Billy’s Dog (NICK). Be careful of such scams.
