An executive of a subsidiary of South Korean internet giant Kakao is suing Kakao's blockchain division GroundX for about 10 billion won ($7.6 million). The lawsuit stems from a hacking incident in March 2022, in which the executive's Kakao Talk account was hacked and cryptocurrencies in the integrated crypto wallet Klip were stolen and transferred to overseas exchanges. A Kakao spokesperson said the company is integrating and optimizing GroundX and currently lacks enough staff to handle the matter.
