According to the Tax Daily, the South Korean lawmaker Kim Young-hwan has proposed an amendment to the Prohibition of Improper Solicitation and Bribery Act. This amendment aims to include virtual assets and the provision of non-public information within the scope of improper solicitation. The current law lists material benefits that constitute improper solicitation, such as money, marketable securities, real estate, and memberships, but virtual assets are not included. This amendment seeks to address this gap and bring virtual assets under the purview of the law.
