According to TechFlow, the Brazilian Supreme Court has ordered that social media company X must pay a fine of approximately US$5.2 million before it can resume its local services.
Earlier, the social media controlled by American billionaire Musk had appointed a local legal representative and deleted inappropriate messages in accordance with the court order. Judge Alexandre de Moraes ruled on Friday that X must pay the 18.3 million riyals fine he issued earlier and the 10 million riyals fine he ordered last week for allowing some Brazilian users to use the social media during the ban before it can resume operations in the country. The two fines totaled about $5.2 million.
