Following these changes that have caught the attention of investors, Ledger (XRPL) has raised expectations for the potential launch of its stablecoin RLUSD. Ripple has announced updates that have increased excitement about the launch of RLUSD worth $0.602221. According to the XRPScan report, XRPL rolled out two updates last Friday, “fixEmptyDID” and “fixPreviousTxnID.” These updates crossed the 28/35 threshold, supported by 31 validators.

The first update aims to prevent the creation of empty DID ledger entries; this change is expected to increase ledger efficiency by preventing erroneous transactions.

Ripple has begun beta testing its stablecoin on the XRPL and Ethereum networks, releasing two batches of the RLUSD stablecoin, each batch containing 485 RLUSD. These developments have fueled speculation about how the updates will affect the stablecoin’s operation.

Ripple President Monica Long confirmed that RLUSD will be launched this year if it receives US approval. Long emphasized that they expect the stablecoin to provide services in a wider range of areas than Ripple’s native cryptocurrency XRP. She also noted that DEXs on XRPL can benefit from the stablecoin’s efficiency, while XRP will be used for smaller transactions. These statements suggest that XRPL updates can contribute to both the RLUSD and XRP ecosystems and provide more functionality across multiple applications.
