According to a complaint released by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Adam Iza, founder of cryptocurrency trading platform Zort, is suspected of paying bribes of up to $280,000 per month to three Los Angeles Police Department (LASD) officers to illegally obtain search warrants and sensitive police data. The FBI investigation showed that Iza used the illegally obtained information to blackmail and harass a victim code-named E.Z. in an attempt to obtain his laptop used to store cryptocurrencies. Details of the case revealed that Iza had attempted to kidnap E.Z. and intimidate the victim by sending personal information from the police database.
