The Stacks Foundation has officially announced that the much-anticipated Nakamoto upgrade will take place on October 9. Core developers have chosen Bitcoin block 864864 as the hard fork.
The Stacks Nakamoto upgrade aims to improve transaction speeds, security, and new features for the Stacks network, allowing it to connect more securely to the Bitcoin blockchain. One of the highlights is the introduction of sBTC, which connects Bitcoin to decentralized applications on Stacks.
