Binance is the world's largest cryptocurrency exchange and is a multilingual platform that supports more than 30 languages, including Arabic, English, Spanish, French, Chinese, and Japanese.
In light of new regulatory requirements, the platform will soon remove support for the Turkish language, as Binance announced that this language will not be available on the official website and app starting September 27.
The company explained that it closely monitors regulatory developments in Türkiye and globally, and takes all necessary measures to ensure cooperation with regulatory authorities to enable the provision of a sustainable service to users.
Binance stated in its statement:
We understand that this decision may affect some of our users, but we assure you that this step comes within the framework of full compliance with legal requirements in Türkiye.
Despite these changes, Binance.com will remain fully available with all its services in Türkiye.
The platform also confirmed that customer service in Turkish will remain available, and that users' funds will remain safe and unaffected by these changes.
Growing interest in cryptocurrencies in Türkiye:
Turks are reported to be a large segment of crypto users, and in recent months, Binance has been bolstering its offerings to users based in Turkey by introducing trading pairs pegged to the Turkish Lira.
Binance Platform Updates:
Earlier this week, Binance carried out a system-wide upgrade aimed at improving overall performance and stability. The upgrade took about three hours, during which users experienced some technical challenges.
However, Binance confirmed that all operations have returned to normal after the upgrade is completed, ensuring that users' data and assets remain safe.
Earlier, the platform conducted maintenance on the BNB Smart Wallet (BEP20), which resulted in a temporary suspension of deposits and withdrawals on the network.
TON services were also briefly suspended last month as a result of a similar upgrade Binance conducted on The Open Network.
