PANews reported on September 25 that according to FOX Business, U.S. Senator Tim Scott criticized the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Chairman Gary Gensler for postponing the scheduled Senate Banking Committee hearing. Scott said Gensler's regulatory agenda is detrimental to the U.S. economy, adding burdens to companies, reducing capital access opportunities, and undermining the interests of American retirement savers. Republican lawmakers have proposed the Empowering Main Street in America Act, which requires the SEC Chairman to testify to Congress twice a year to enhance transparency and accountability.
