**Ether.fi Thwarts Domain Takeover Attack, User Funds Safe**

Ether.fi, a DeFi staking protocol, successfully defended against a domain takeover attack on Sept. 24. The breach began with a deceptive recovery email from Gandi.net, but Ether.fi's robust security measures, including SPF, DKIM, and DMARC authentication, quickly identified the threat.

By 7:30 pm UTC, Ether.fi had locked down its account, preventing any tampering. The protocol had already upgraded its security, requiring hardware authentication for account recovery, which helped mitigate the attack.

Ether.fi assured users via social media that no funds were compromised and advised against interacting with their domain temporarily. The team confirmed that no malicious DApps were deployed.
