"Everyone burns incense, all with something to ask for. The poor ask about wealth, the rich ask about the way, and the rich ask about the way to disaster. But no matter which sutra, every sentence is advising us to let go. In the Xingguo Zen Temple in Jinan, there is a stone couplet: The evening drum and the morning bell awaken the world's fame and fortune seekers, the sound of sutras and the chanting of Buddha call back the lost in the sea of suffering.
In fact, most people who go to temples do not worship Buddha, but their own desires. They want what they don’t have, and they are afraid of losing what they have, so they want to keep it. These are all desires. Mountains are mountains, seas are seas, and only you are the most wonderful. "
How strange people are, always lost in the pursuit, can't get the one they like, and don't cherish when they get it. They doubt when they are together, miss when they lose, want to meet when they miss, and regret meeting too late when they meet. Their whole life is full of regrets.
You see, if praying to Buddha is useful, you probably can't even enter the temple; if farming can make money, farmers will have no land to farm; if donating blood is good for health, you will never get a chance even if you queue up for a lifetime. There are eight out of ten things in life that are not satisfactory, but we must learn to take it lightly.
Those who live too hard are either living in the past and unable to see the future, or too realistic and trapped by fame and fortune. No matter how hot the water is, it will still cool down, no matter how full the enthusiasm is, it will still fade away, and no matter how much you love someone, they will leave.
True maturity means no longer saying that there is a long way to go, but getting used to people leaving and forgetting you. Don't think about what you can't get, stay away from negative energy, life is full of ups and downs, don't add to your own sadness.
As Lin Qingxuan said: "Look at the world with a pure heart, live life with a happy heart, feel emotions with an ordinary heart, and remove worries with a soft heart."
Life is full of ups and downs. Smooth sailing is a dream, while chaos is the daily routine. In the face of difficulties, some people are unable to recover, while others keep moving forward.
Life is short, enjoy it while you can. There are many things that are better forgotten than remembered. Spring flowers and autumn grass are fleeting. It is said that life is impermanent, with more pain than happiness, so remember those good times.
The biggest prison in the world is your own heart. If you can't get out of your obsession, you will be a prisoner wherever you go. Life is really hard, and you can only save yourself! Let go of your obsession and let yourself go! If your heart is happy, there will be no suffering in the world; if your heart is bright, there will be sunshine everywhere in life.
The Buddhist scriptures say: "There are eight sufferings in life: birth, aging, sickness, death, separation from loved ones, long-lasting resentment, failure to obtain what one desires, and inability to let go."
The first seven kinds of suffering are beyond our control, only the last one is under our control. The meaning of life is not to pick up, but to let go. Once you let go, nothing will make you suffer in this life.
If you can't do something, it's not necessarily because you can't do it. Gains and losses don't depend on momentary melancholy. Blessings and disasters are always interdependent. Gains are not necessarily blessings, and losses are not necessarily disasters. Don't be greedy, you can't have everything; don't be discouraged, you can't lose everything.
Happiness is not about having a pleasing face, but about having a relaxed mood; purity is not about eliminating desires, but about being selfless; believing in Buddhism is not about asking for Buddha’s blessing, but about practicing selflessness. Life is not bitter, it is because of excessive desires and too many concerns that we are trapped by obsessions. Letting go will bring us freedom.
Master Hongyi said: "All the joys in the world are empty and nothing really belongs to you. When you come, everyone is happy, and when you leave, you have nothing. The only thing that belongs to you is every moment of your life."
Some people think that persistence will make us stronger, but sometimes, letting go is the key. We should always believe that the path we take, the people we meet, and the regrets we leave are all things we should experience. Right and wrong are not up to our heart, so don't be sad. We have our own destiny.
The evening breeze that passes by, does it tell you that the day has passed? If you are reluctant to let go of the sand in your hand, you will have no time to pick up the pearls and jade on the ground. When you reach the end of the water, sit and watch the clouds rise.
In life, if your heart is one inch wider, the road will be ten feet wider. If you let go of one thought, you will be free. Those who hurt you are actually here to save you. Only by letting go of your resentment can you feel relieved. Only by passing this station can you see the next station.
Time is like sand, passing away with the wind. A prosperous life is like a bubble. We are all travelers of time, and after a thousand years, we will return to dust. So why bother too much in this life? Learn to let go, and your heart will be at peace.
