**Flappy Bird Returns with Web3 Features, No NFTs**

The iconic mobile game Flappy Bird has made a comeback, now featuring optional Web3 integrations. Launched on September 16 as a Telegram Mini App, the game allows players to opt out of crypto features. A spokesperson from the Flappy Bird Foundation confirmed that the game will never include NFTs and won't require a crypto wallet to play.

- **Free to Play**: All versions of Flappy Bird will remain 100% free.

- **Monetization**: Revenue will come from in-app purchases and optional ads.

- **Crypto Elements**: The game offers rewards for connecting a crypto wallet but can be played without it.

- **Blockchain**: Future onchain features will be on Telegram’s linked blockchain, The Open Network (TON).

The original creator, Dong Nguyen, has distanced himself from this new version, emphasizing his disapproval of crypto. The Flappy Bird Foundation acquired the game rights after Nguyen's trademark claim was terminated.
