Which countries are most interested in RWA?
The country with the most interest in crypto real-world assets (RWAs) is the United States, which accounts for 14.8% of global interest in the narrative by 2024. As a major stage for crypto, the United States has previously led interest in other narratives, including small-cap tokens and AI crypto.
Notably, the most popular RWA protocol among U.S. crypto investors during this period was Ondo Finance (ONDO), which accounted for nearly half of the country’s interest in RWA cryptocurrencies. The U.S. also led interest in most RWA protocols, with Goldfinch (GFI) and Maple (MPL) accounting for nearly a third of global interest so far this year, for example.
Other countries with the highest interest in RWA crypto are Indonesia and Turkey, accounting for 10.1% and 8.0% of global interest respectively. Both countries have shown greater interest in the entire RWA crypto narrative than any individual RWA protocol.
In addition to Indonesia, three other Southeast Asian countries are also the most interested in RWA cryptocurrencies, namely Vietnam (accounting for 2.9% of global interest), the Philippines (2.2%) and Singapore (1.2%).
Neighboring India ranked fourth with 6.3% of global RWA cryptocurrency interest, the only South Asian country to make the top 20. Similarly, Brazil led South America’s interest in RWA cryptocurrencies with a 3.3% share, ranking ninth globally, while Nigeria ranked 16th globally with a 1.5% share, the highest among African countries.
In continental Europe, the United Kingdom has been the most interested in RWA cryptocurrencies, accounting for 5.6% of global interest in the narrative. Additionally, six of the 27 EU countries are among the top 20 countries with the most interest in RWA cryptocurrencies worldwide, with France topping the list with a 3.9% share.
Overall, the top 20 countries with the most interest in the RWA cryptocurrency account for 81.8% of global attention to the narrative so far this year.
