Shiba Inu (SHIB) holders and observers have noticed an unusual trend:

Typically, some tokens are always burned, making this lack of activity noteworthy. This stagnation in the burn rate, as reported by Shibburn, is surprising given SHIB's low price, which usually encourages token burning.

The total SHIB burned remains at 410,728,808,987,659 tokens, leaving the circulating supply at 583,491,742,524,222 SHIB.

This unexpected pause in burning has raised concerns, particularly regarding the ShibTorch portal, which was launched recently to automate the burning process. Unlike the previous manual system, where community members would send tokens to a designated burn wallet, ShibTorch was supposed to streamline this process.

However, the lack of burns suggests that the portal may not be working as intended, or that network transactions have decreased, resulting in fewer tokens being burned.

As Shiba Inu faces growing competition in the meme coin space, maintaining its position as the second-largest meme coin has become increasingly challenging.

This has put pressure on its developers, including Shytoshi Kusama, to innovate and adapt to the evolving market.
