The Supreme Court of India’s YouTube account was reinstated shortly after it was taken over by cryptocurrency scammers who were running an XRP scam.

On September 20, the court’s YouTube account was used for a livestream video about fake XRP investments featuring Ripple Labs CEO Brad Garlinghouse.

The account was rebranded to resemble Ripple and previous content was deleted. YouTube shut down the account the same day.

The Supreme Court of India announced that the account had been reinstated. However, according to Cointelegraph’s investigation, the account’s more than 217,000 subscribers and video uploads could not be restored. The account was renamed ‘Vansh’ and had only 15 subscribers.

The incident highlights the ongoing vulnerability of online platforms to hacking and the importance of strong security measures.
