Users of macOS 15 ‘ #Sequoia ’ are experiencing network connection errors with certain endpoint detection and response (EDR) and virtual private network ( #VPN ) solutions, particularly #CrowdStrike Falcon and #ESET Endpoint Security, as well as issues with web browsers. These problems seem to stem from incompatibilities with the operating system's new networking structures.

CrowdStrike and SentinelOne have both advised against upgrading to macOS 15 until their tools fully support it. Reports indicate that while some VPNs, like #ProtonVPN , are functioning well, others like Mullvad are facing intermittent connectivity issues.

Apple has not commented on these problems, but release notes indicate changes to the Application Firewall, which may be causing conflicts. ESET recommends users remove their product from macOS’s network filters to resolve connection issues, while security researcher Wacław Jacek has suggested temporary fixes for firewall-related problems.

Users relying on EDR, VPNs, or strict firewall settings are advised to delay upgrading to macOS 15 until these issues are resolved.
