The collaboration between the cryptocurrency project BONK and the animal rescue organization Korean K9 Rescue has resulted in a success not only in breaking a world record but also in facilitating dog adoptions. This partnership led to 10 #dogs finding new homes, while another 28 are still waiting for their chance.

Blockchain and Animal Welfare – Unexpected Connections

Not everything related to cryptocurrencies has to be negative. BONK, a blockchain-related project, teamed up with the Korean K9 Rescue (KK9R) organization to set a new GUINNESS WORLD RECORD. This record involved the largest number of dogs, 38 in total, being walked by a single person simultaneously. The previous record, which included 36 dogs, was surpassed.

An Event Full of Emotion and Significance

This significant event took place on September 5th at Chungbuk National University near Seoul during Korea Blockchain Week. The main contributor and record-breaker for BONK was Kadense Pengu, who led 38 rescued dogs from the streets of South Korea, where they had been subjected to neglect and abuse.

 Merging Cryptocurrency and Animal Protection

New York-based Korean K9 Rescue focuses on the rescue and rehabilitation of dogs. In collaboration with #BONK , the organization aimed to raise awareness about dog adoption, with a particular emphasis on their Seoul branch. Together, they also sought to highlight the growing global need for animal protection.

 Dog Adoptions: Initial Successes

In the past week, 10 dogs have been adopted. Four of them have already met their new families, while six more are on their way to the United States, where new owners await them. Proceeds from the event contributed to financing these adoptions and improving conditions for dogs in shelters.

Dogs as Champions and Loving Companions

According to official information, the dogs participating in this record-breaking event are not only “champions on the field” but also loving companions waiting for their new homes. They have shown great courage and resilience and are ready to bring joy and love into their new owners’ lives.

A Meaningful Mission and Changing Perceptions

BONK and Korean K9 Rescue emphasized that this event was not just about numbers. Their primary goal was to raise awareness about the importance of dog adoption and to support KK9R's efforts to find loving homes for abandoned dogs. Part of the mission was also to change outdated stereotypes and stigma often associated with dogs in South Korea.

 Blockchain for a Good Cause

Through this project, BONK not only strengthened its community but also contributed to the real world by supporting a worthy cause.
