After being blocked in Brazil for almost a month, Elon Musk’s social media platform X has taken action to comply with local regulations.

On September 18, Justice Minister Alexandre de Moraes began suspending accounts accused of spreading misinformation. X’s lawyers announced that a new legal representative would be appointed in the country. According to Brazilian law, social media platforms operating in the country must have a legal representative.

Accounts believed to be linked to supporters of former Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro have been suspended. Elon Musk has called Moraes’ actions political censorship, while the Brazilian government supports the fight against misinformation.
