According to TechFlow, on September 20, Cointelegraph reported that the decentralized GPU cloud computing network Aethir announced a strategic partnership with the Filecoin Foundation to solve the increasingly severe GPU shortage problem in the fields of artificial intelligence and Web3. The partnership combines GPU rental services with Filecoin's decentralized storage network to provide the industry with a new infrastructure solution.
"Traditional systems can no longer meet current computing and storage needs," said Mark Rydon, chief strategy officer and co-founder of Aethir, in an interview. "Filecoin's decentralized storage backbone network perfectly complements Aethir's decentralized GPU cloud infrastructure, providing a secure and scalable solution for massive data management. This is an ideal time for the two companies to collaborate to meet the evolving needs of the industry." He pointed out that the main challenges facing decentralized GPU cloud computing include "global GPU shortages and inefficient usage" and "ensuring that computing power and data storage remain balanced and decentralized, which is critical to avoiding centralized points of failure."
To address these challenges, the collaboration will focus on AI-driven data security, leveraging AI and node-focused data (such as TensorOpera Fox-1 using Filecoin network storage). Rydon said Aethir will combine its "scalable GPU computing power" with Filecoin's storage services to meet "large-scale computing and storage needs."
