At the TOKEN2049 conference in Singapore, Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin not only analyzed the latest developments in Ethereum, he also gave the guests a major surprise with a crypto-themed song!
The digital visionary showed off his charm as a dual identity as a technical leader and performer at the event on September 18-19.
He particularly emphasized the progress of Ethereum's Layer 2 (L2) solutions, which have reduced transaction fees to near zero, greatly improving the convenience and economy of transactions. Vitalik also firmly responded to doubts about Ethereum's market position, confidently stating that Ethereum's foundation is now "crazy strong."
This confidence is not unfounded. Since April, L2 solutions like Arbitrum have reduced fees from more than $0.50 to between $0.01 and $0.004, which has undoubtedly enhanced Ethereum's competitiveness.
Meanwhile, the Ethereum ecosystem routinely sees more than 1 million transactions per day, a growth that reflects not only increased trading activity but also the success of recent improvements such as EIP-4844, which creates a specific block area for L2 data.
Vitalik’s speech also focused on improving the user experience of the Ethereum network. He mentioned advances in cross-L2 wallet interactions and the development of zero-knowledge (ZK) technologies, which will enhance the security and privacy of distributed applications (dApps).
However, at the TOKEN2049 conference, Vitalik’s strategic ETH sales also became the focus of public attention. Because he has sold about $9.8 million in ETH since the end of August.
While some market observers viewed this move as a possible bearish signal, others saw it as a prudent strategy by Vitalik to avoid market turmoil.
