According to Reuters, Terraform Labs received court approval on Thursday to end its business in bankruptcy. The company previously reached a $4.47 billion settlement with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), which accused the company of defrauding cryptocurrency investors who lost about $40 billion when TerraUSD and Luna tokens collapsed in 2022. The SEC will only receive compensation after Terraform satisfies its claims for cryptocurrency losses in its bankruptcy liquidation proceedings. In addition, Terraform estimates that it will be able to pay between $184.5 million and $442.2 million to cryptocurrency buyers and other stakeholders as part of the bankruptcy liquidation.
