Ethereum developers decided to split the upcoming major hard fork, Pectra, into two packages during a meeting on Thursday. The move was made in order to make the upgrade more manageable and reduce the risk of bugs.

- Pectra would be Ethereum’s largest hard fork to date.

- The first package will include eight Ethereum improvement proposals (EIPs), such as EIP-7702, which improves wallet user experience.

- The second package aims to make changes to the Ethereum Virtual Machine and introduce features like PeerDAS.
