According to TechFlow, on September 19, Cointelegraph reported that Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson plans to meet with Argentine President Javier Milei on October 19, 2024 to discuss the cryptocurrency economy and how blockchain technology can reshape the global economic and political system.

“We will explore the value and need for blockchain technology in Argentina, including whether the country chooses to go the central bank digital currency (CBDC) route and what partners it will need in rebuilding its economy,” Hoskinson said in an interview.

Hoskinson called Milei "Austrian in philosophy" and believed that the president's ideas were highly consistent with the spirit of the cryptocurrency industry. He said: "Milei wants to get rid of government-controlled currencies and support private institutions and free markets." It is worth noting that Cardano already has deep roots in Argentina. In June 2024, the Cardano Foundation signed a cooperation agreement with Argentina to promote the application of local blockchain technology.
