Golden Finance reported that the Southern District Court of New York rejected the request of Samourai Wallet founder Keonne Rodriguez to modify the bail conditions. The prosecutor submitted Rodriguez's handwritten "Escape Preparation" notes as evidence, which detailed travel plans and emergency items. Rodriguez's lawyer argued that this was just a general emergency plan, but the prosecutor believed it was an active escape plan. Earlier news, Rodriguez and co-founder William Lonergan Hill were arrested in April this year for operating an unregistered currency transmission business, involving $2 billion in illegal transactions and $100 million in money laundering transactions. The two founders' lawyers cited a letter from two senators in May this year, accusing the Department of Justice of over-interpreting non-custodial crypto asset software services.
