Trump assassination attempt: FBI speaks out, suspect identified

The Palm Beach golf course was not surrounded by law enforcement when the second assassination attempt on Donald Trump occurred.

On the afternoon of September 15 (US time, equivalent to the morning of September 16 Vietnam time), the US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) said it was investigating "what appears to be an attempted assassination" of Donald Trump, the Republican presidential candidate.

According to CNN, three law enforcement sources have revealed the identity of the suspect in the attempted assassination at Trump's golf course in Palm Beach County, Florida. It is a man named Ryan Wesley Routh, 58, from Hawaii.

Authorities have not yet determined whether the gunman fired any shots at the agents or Trump. The gunman was captured by a resident when he ran out of the bushes and got into a black Nissan. The suspect also took a photo of the suspect and reported it to law enforcement. The suspect was arrested shortly after he parked on I-95.

Police also found the suspect's rifle and two bags, along with a camera left behind in a fence. His motive is still unknown.
