Bitfarms will bring an additional 2.2 EH/s of computing power online in October 2024 through a deal with Stronghold Digital Mining. The deal will add 10,000 Bitmain T21 miners to Bitfarms’ Panther Creek facility in Pennsylvania. CEO Ben Gagnon said the facilities provide energy trading opportunities, competitive power costs, and HPC/AI access. Bitfarms will pay Stronghold a fee of 50% of the profits from the miner hosting agreement.
Riot Platforms criticized Bitfarms’ acquisition of Stronghold, claiming that the deal diminished shareholder value. Bitfarms responded to the criticism by saying Riot was acting in its own interests. Share your thoughts in the comments.
