CASTILE is a 3A idle RPG and Roguelike game in the Aptos ecosystem, set in the fantasy Cthulhu universe. Its developer Nytro Lab recently announced the completion of an $8 million financing round, led by SevenX Ventures, with participation from OKX Ventures, Aptos Labs, HashKey Capital and other institutions.
The game has completed the Alpha test and will start the Beta test at 20:00 (Beijing time) on September 10. Early participants will have the opportunity to win Castile's CAST tokens by participating in the beta version. As of press time, the floor price of CASTILE's Genesis NFT series TAROT on the NFT trading markets OpenSea and Blur is over 1.2 ETH.
Fundamentals
Team: Nytro Lab is a Web3 game studio that has launched a "Play and Trade" game model, which is "to attract a large number of players willing to pay with game quality and an attractive trading system, and allow users to earn income in a more sustainable way."
According to the RootData page, the co-founder of Nytro Lab is Arthur Kao, who is also the co-founder of Nytro lab, the company that developed CASTILE. He was previously the investment director of SevenX Ventures and the director of ChainHill Capital’s gaming fund. According to the official introduction of Nytro Lab, CASTILE is the core work of the team that took three years and invested tens of millions of dollars to create.
Funding: On September 10, the project announced that it had received $8 million in financing, led by SevenX Ventures and strategically invested by OKX Venures. At the same time, well-known institutions such as HashKey Capital, Aptos, Amber Group, Matr1x, and Leland Ventures participated in the investment. Nytro Lab has raised a total of $25 million.
Game Mechanics: In CASTILE, players focus on strategically collecting and training heroes to build a team that can overcome various challenges in the game. The story takes place after your team defeats the Corrupted Valkyrie and is teleported to Pucela, where only you and another hero survive. Initially, each team consists of five heroes, including warriors, tanks, assassins, buffs, control, mages, and ADCs. On this basis, it also involves the bonds between factions and specific characters, and requires flexible lineups to cope with a series of challenges.
The single-player PvE mode includes the main quest, Hell Gate, and Dark Emperor Trial. In the cooperative PvE content, players can participate in forbidden magic prisons and maze-like dungeon exploration. In addition, the game also provides various competitive arenas for PvP battles and GvE challenges, encouraging alliance cooperation. In simple terms, the game is about doing plots, going to dungeons, processing opportunities, and world bosses, and then improving combat power by equipping and synthesizing your own cards and choosing the right hero combination.
Products: CASTILE's current product focus is Genesis NFT (TAROT) and Tarot Coins. TAROT is the most powerful hero combat accessory in the game. You can activate the Tarot suit by wearing designated Tarot cards, thereby obtaining game privileges and powerful attributes. These privileges include:
Game power: NFT (TAROT) holders will directly enjoy a power bonus in the in-game Tarot system
Get elite points through lucky draw: NFT (TAROT) holders will automatically open the elite points pool and get 3 lucky draws per day (updated daily at UTC+00)
The highest invitation reward level: NFT (TAROT) holders can enjoy 15% invitee points and rebate rewards for consuming Tarot coins by inviting friends through the event sharing link.
With the update of the Beta version, the game also launched a trading system:
Players can use Tarot Coins to purchase other players' equipment and props in the trading system, and can also put their own equipment and props on the trading system in exchange for Tarot Coins. According to the game design, Tarot Coins and u can be exchanged with each other. Currently, 200 Tarot Coins can be purchased for $0.99, and the reverse exchange channel has not yet been opened.
In addition, this beta version also opens an event called "Beta Lucky Draw", which will run from August 28 to October 10, 2024, with a total reward of $4 million CAST. All registered players can participate in the draw. Each draw requires 1 key. For ordinary players, they can participate in the Quest points weekly rankings, where the top 10 players can receive Key rewards; at the same time, during the Beta test, 1 key can be obtained for every 2,000 Tarot Coins consumed. The more Tarot Coins you consume, the more keys you get. In addition, TAROT NFT holders will receive 3 keys for free every day.
