From MATIC to POL: Polygon completes migration to new cryptocurrency
Blockchain developers say the new token will be used to pay fees and practice staking on the network.
When announcing the change, the developers explained that the new cryptocurrency will maintain the characteristics of matic, including the distribution logic. The idea is that current MATIC buyers will not need to perform any exchange operations, receiving POL at a 1 to 1 ratio.
