OpenAI Targets $150 Billion Valuation With New Fundraise
Artificial intelligence giant OpenAI is reportedly in talks to secure a massive new round of funding that could boost its valuation to $150 billion.
According to sources familiar with the matter, OpenAI is looking to raise $6.5 billion from investors at this valuation. This valuation is a huge jump from the companyâs $80 billion valuation earlier this year.
OpenAI in Talks to Secure $5 Billion Revolving Credit Facility
According to Bloomberg, OpenAI is also reportedly in talks with banks to secure a $5 billion revolving credit facility. This move is similar to those taken by other tech giants such as Meta and Uber ahead of their initial public offerings.
Thrive Capital is reportedly leading the funding round. Tech giants such as Microsoft are also expected to participate. There are also reports that Apple and Nvidia are in discussions about potential investments.
This latest funding effort would mark a major leap from OpenAIâs $29 billion valuation last year. Previous reports from the Wall Street Journal in August revealed that OpenAIâs new funding round could push its valuation to more than $100 billion.
