According to Reuters, Ferrari's marketing and business chief said that Ferrari has begun accepting cryptocurrency payments in the US market and will then expand the program in Europe to meet the needs of wealthy customers.
Ferrari chose BitPay as an initial partner, allowing payments to be made in stablecoins such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, and USDC without incurring additional fees.
Ferrari’s order book is full until 2025, but the company wants to test new markets with cryptocurrency payments. Ferrari plans to expand cryptocurrency payments to Europe and other regions where cryptocurrency payments are legally accepted in the first quarter of next year.
Ferrari Chief Marketing and Commercial Officer Enrico Galliera told Reuters the cryptocurrency has worked to reduce its carbon footprint by introducing new software and increasing its use of renewable energy.
