According to TechFlow, on September 10, according to cryptonews, Franz Bergmüller, CEO of Swiss crypto bank Amina, said that the company is applying for a virtual asset service provider (VASP) license from the Austrian Financial Market Authority. Bergmüller emphasized that Amina needs to form a new team before doing business in Austria. He said: "We are close to breaking even, but growth investment is currently a priority."
Amina, formerly SEBA Bank, established its headquarters in Zug, Switzerland in April 2022. The application is related to the Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) regulations implemented by the European Union in June. Bergmüller revealed that the company plans to expand its business in Europe and said that there is strong demand for crypto mortgages, and many crypto startups are queuing up to open traditional bank accounts.
