Vinteum, a non-profit organization dedicated to the development of Bitcoin in Brazil and Latin America, has announced the Bitcoin Dev Launchpad, an intensive three-month program focused on training Brazilian programmers in the Bitcoin and Lightning Network ecosystem.

Registration for the program, which is completely free, is open until October 2nd.

The course, which starts on November 18, is aimed at developers with at least two years of experience and offers a complete immersion in the technical and theoretical foundations of Bitcoin, in addition to preparing participants for the open-source culture.

The program includes classes, workshops, practical challenges and mentoring with renowned experts.

Grants of up to R$10,000 per month

The best participants will have the chance to work on high-impact projects, such as Bitcoin Core and Lightning, with the possibility of receiving remuneration of up to R$10,000 per month, in addition to grants from partner organizations, such as OpenSats and Spiral.

Bruno Garcia, Bitcoin Core Developer and Educational Director at Vinteum, and Edil Medeiros, Professor of Computer Engineering at the University of Brasília (UnB), will lead the program.

Garcia highlights the importance of training new talents to contribute to the future of Bitcoin on the global stage. Medeiros has dedicated himself to researching the Bitcoin protocol, becoming a reference on the subject.

“Our goal is to prepare developers not only on the technical side, but also on the culture and philosophy of open-source development,” said Garcia.

The selection process includes a programming challenge and an interview, as well as a Socratic seminar based on the book “Mastering Bitcoin”, by Andreas Antonopoulos and David Harding, a reference work in the sector.

Those who stand out will be able to collaborate on projects that have an impact on the ecosystem, receiving remuneration of up to R$10,000 per month. In addition, they will be able to apply for grants from Vinteum and partner organizations, such as OpenSats and Spiral.

Vinteum currently funds three full-time Brazilian developers, allowing them to dedicate themselves exclusively to open-source projects such as Bitcoin Core, Bitcoin Dev Kit (BDK), Fedimint, Rustreexo and Floresta.

“The best students will have the chance to receive scholarships from Vinteum and other partners, allowing them to focus their careers on developing the future of Bitcoin,” said Lucas Ferreira, CEO of Vinteum.

Registration can be done via the website vinteum.org/bdl, and more information is available at the same address.
