Elon Musk’s DOGE meme fuels political expectations of Trump presidency

Musk has again stoked the fire with a controversial statement on social media, hinting at a political role if Trump wins the November 2024 election.

Musk recently posted a joke on X showing an AI-generated photo of him at a desk with a sign reading “D.O.G.E.”

The article, titled “Department of Government Efficiency,” mixes crypto with politics, sparking speculation about the future of Musk’s public service.

Doge surges after Musk tweet

Musk’s cryptocurrency Dogecoin hit a 24-hour high after the meme was distributed.

It has yet to recover from its one-week high.

Trump’s new plan to create a federal efficiency panel fuels the notion.

Trump plans to establish the panel to assess the finances and performance of the federal government and propose major improvements.

Musk retweeted Trump’s announcement video with the caption, “This is much needed.”

He has hinted at contributing to such a venture, but has not confirmed the government’s involvement.

Trump joked about Musk’s schedule when he recommended Musk lead the task force.

“Elon, since he’s not very busy, offered to chair this task force,” Trump said, suggesting Musk would participate if he had the time.

Musk may not be considering a government role, despite Trump’s comments.

Musk oversees Tesla, SpaceX, xAI, Neuralink, The Boring Company and social media company X.

His recent actions, including his controversial stance on X.com in Brazil, a challenge to Venezuela’s Nicolas Maduro and legal issues with OpenAI and its CEO Sam Altman, indicate a busy schedule.

Trump and Musk’s partnership ideas may not materialize before the November election.#ElonsMusk
