NFL Rivals, a mobile game licensed by the National Football League (NFL) and the NFL Players Association, has partnered with the defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs to bring fans exclusive digital collectibles and enhanced gaming experiences. Through this collaboration, fans can earn Chiefs-themed NFTs to unlock special features and experiences in the game.
As NFL Rivals enters its second year as the official mobile game of the Chiefs, the partnership sets a new standard for engaging fans through Web3, with over 5 million downloads and over 115 million games played reportedly demonstrating a growing interest in sports-related digital collectibles.
Yuga Labs Launches The Workshop
On August 30, Yuga Labs CEO Greg Solano introduced The Workshop, a new initiative launching on ApeChain, the third-layer blockchain behind Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC).
The program is designed to give developers more freedom and encourage faster creation and execution of new digital products, and Solano tweeted that he hopes the BAYC team will "get addicted" to the fast pace of 8-12 week product cycles and come up with exciting new surprises.
SuiPlay0X1 reveals details of handheld crypto gaming console
SuiPlay0X1, a handheld crypto gaming device that will be available in 2025, is now available for pre-order, with Playtron and Mysten Labs, the developers behind the Sui blockchain, sharing the device’s specifications on September 2.
The handheld console, which costs $599, features Wi-Fi and Bluetooth capabilities, as well as a 7-inch, 1920 x 1200 resolution screen.
Nyan Heroes Pre-Alpha is now available on the Epic Games Store
Nyan Heroes is an upcoming team-based hero shooter where players control cats in mechs, blending feline characters with high-mobility combat and web3 elements.
With a focus on acrobatics, fast-paced movement, and customization through a dynamic weapon enhancement system, the game is free-to-play with optional crypto and web3 elements that players can choose to participate in or not based on their preferences.
“Nyan Heroes stands out because it’s built with gameplay first, and our priority is to deliver a polished, competitive hero shooter that players feel complete and satisfied… We’re not just chasing trends, we’re building a title that’s built to last,” said Max Fu, CEO and co-founder of 9 Lives Interactive.
The release of its Pre-Alpha Playtest 3 introduces the Scout and Mage Guardians, a new map, and Payload mode, and according to Epic Games, the playtest will also introduce the Player Enhancement System, which "enables players to earn and equip small rewards based on their match performance to further customize their play style," and the test will run from September 4 to 25, 2024.
Forbes Partners with OKX Wallet to Build NFT Gated Community
Forbes continues to delve deeper into web3. The media company has partnered with OKX Wallet to launch an official membership community for Forbes Heritage Pass holders. According to an announcement on August 29, OKX Wallet will provide a fast application review to admit Heritage Pass holders to the membership-only program.
Approved holders will have access to real-life events and the chance to connect with influential Forbes Inner Circle members, and as of now, only 1,917 Legacy Pass NFTs exist.
‘PGA Tour Rise’ Brings Golf NFTs to Fans
Irish game developer Stratton Studios is partnering with web3 gaming company Chain Games and the PGA Tour to create PGA Tour Rise, a blockchain-powered golf game set to launch in 2026.
The game will be available on mobile devices and the web and will feature real-time competitive matches on virtual versions of famous golf courses. Players can collect digital items in the game, including virtual golf equipment in the form of NFTs. A series of mini-games will be launched at the end of 2024 and continue into 2025 in preparation for the full release.
CryptoKitties launches “All the Zen” game on Telegram
CryptoKitties, a digital cat collectible and one of the first NFT projects launched in 2017, has caused a sensation as a mysterious digital collectible egg appeared on the internet as part of a new Telegram game “All the Zen” announced by CryptoKitties on September 3.
While the team hasn’t revealed many details, rumor has it that the timing of All the Zen’s launch could be tied to the Flow blockchain’s upcoming integration with Ethereum, which could theoretically reduce the gas fees associated with breeding CryptoKitties. Sasha Stiles' REPETAE on display at Lentos Museum
Sasha Stiles, a Kalmyk-American poet, researcher and artist known for combining AI writing with literature, will have her work featured in the annual Prix Ars Electronica exhibition, Sept. 4-8 at the Lentos Art Museum in the Austrian riverside town of Linz.
Stiles, who received one of two AI Art Excellence Awards, tweeted that this year’s show marked the first time an AI Art Award had been given in the competition’s history, and that her work “REPETAE” was selected from 2,950 entries to be part of 13 top media art projects.

On September 4, Istanbul-born new media artist Refik Anadol unveiled his latest AI-powered data sculpture, “Dvořák’s Dream,” at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C.
Known for transforming data into stunning visual presentations, Anadol’s new installation fuses his technology-driven approach with inspiration from the classical works of the late Czech composer Antonín Dvořák. The immersive performance is part of the Kennedy Center’s 2023/2024 season.
