What Is This About?
This proposal, submitted by @HorizenLabs, puts forward a plan for future $ZEN allocations and emissions optimized for a vibrant ZK community built on the Horizen 2.0 blockchain. It is important to note that the maximum supply of 21 million $ZEN will be preserved in the proposed tokenomic model.
Why this ZenIP?
Horizen is undergoing a major upgrade from a proof-of-work UTXO model to a proof-of-stake EVM-compatible blockchain optimized for ZK. The vision has evolved from facilitating private value transfers to building an ecosystem that supports dApps specifically leveraging zero-knowledge technology.
As a fair-launch project with no pre-mine and no ICO, Horizenâs current block reward allocations do not align with the modern needs for ecosystem growth. This plan aims to create a more effective tokenomics framework that accelerates ecosystem growth, equips the community with the resources to seize new opportunities, and honors the projectâs legacy max supply cap.
