The reason, as disclosed by CEO Alex, is that the market environment and their business needs have changed significantly this year. This decision was made to help zkSync become a leaner team.
Currently, zkSync has around 92,620 active addresses, down from the peak of 455,000 in April before the launch of the $ZK token.
At present, $ZK is trading at $0.1002, with a market capitalization of $356 million and a fully diluted valuation (FDV) of $2.1 billion.
