According to TechFlow, Offchain Labs announced that Arbitrum One and Nova chain have officially switched from EVM to MultiVM architecture.
The newly launched Stylus system introduces the WASM virtual machine on both chains, enabling developers to write smart contracts in languages such as Rust, C, and C++ while maintaining full compatibility with EVM.
The launch of Stylus aims to expand the capabilities of developers so that functions that were originally only available in Ethereum or other EVM environments can now be implemented on Arbitrum.
Offchain Labs said that it is crucial to improve smart contract development while maintaining the advantages of EVM, which allows developers familiar with EVM to continue working while exploring new possibilities. Stylus is still in its early stages and will continue to optimize core technology and increase tool support in the future to promote the development of the entire Arbitrum ecosystem.
