According to ChainCatcher, Scottish prosecutors have seized nearly $144,000 (£110,000) worth of Bitcoin from a "technician" involved in a home invasion, during which a cryptocurrency holder was threatened with a machete. The incident occurred in March 2020, when three men threatened the victim to transfer Bitcoin to an account controlled by John Ross Rennie at a home near Glasgow. Although Rennie was not directly involved in the robbery, he was convicted of "reset crime" and the 23.5 Bitcoins he held in stolen goods were recently converted into cash and confiscated by prosecutors.
