WSJ: Goldman Sachs will lay off more than 1,300 people
On August 31, the Wall Street Journal reported that sources revealed that Goldman Sachs plans to lay off more than 1,300 people worldwide as part of the annual review process to eliminate underperforming employees. The number of layoffs accounts for 3%-4% of the total number of employees. Given that Goldman Sachs had a total of approximately 45,300 employees at the end of last year, this will affect approximately 1,300-1,800 people.
