If you remember I wrote about MEV bots in a post yesterday, you can refer to it for a better understanding, here are some simple tips on how to protect your crypto from MEV bots. I will tell you about the simplest methods. There are more complicated methods, but we will save that for later. 1. Flashbots These help send transactions directly to miners, bypassing the public mempool where bots lurk. For example, if you are trading a hot new token on Uniswap, using Flashbots can keep your transactions private until they are confirmed. 2. Tight slippage settings They make it less likely for bots to exploit your trades. For example, if you usually bet 1%, try lowering it to 0.5% or even 0.1%. If you are buying a volatile token like SHIB, tight slippage settings can protect you from sudden price spikes caused by bots. 3. Gas-Free Trading Platforms These platforms allow you to trade without paying gas fees, which reduces the chance of your trades being blocked by bots. Your orders are processed in a way that makes them unattractive to MEV bots. 4. Avoid Peak Times Bots are most active during busy times. Trade when the network is quieter so that you don't get noticed. Early morning or late at night are good times to make your trades. For example, if you notice lower gas prices around 2am, that's a good time to trade. 5. MEV-Protected Decentralized Exchanges Some DEXs are starting to implement MEV protection measures. For example, Balancer's Smart Order Router helps protect against MEV attacks by figuring out the best transaction trajectory. Overall, MEV bots are annoying, but if you follow these tips, I'm sure you'll be fine.
