The TON blockchain, once closely linked to Telegram, has experienced a major disruption, with no new blocks being produced for several hours.
This issue has led major exchanges like Binance and Bybit to halt all deposits and withdrawals involving the network. The disruption comes at a time when Telegram has been re-integrating the TON network, using its native token, Toncoin, for various platform features like ad revenue sharing and in-app purchases.
This latest outage has contributed to the already volatile price of Toncoin, which has been on a downward trend following the recent arrest of Telegram CEO Pavel Durov in France.
