PANews reported on August 28 that according to Bitcoin.com, the UAE has made a request to the French government to urgently provide all necessary consular services to Durov. Durov was arrested in France on Saturday for cybercrime investigations. The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement: "The UAE is closely following the case of its citizen, Telegram founder Pavel Durov, who was arrested by French authorities at Paris-Bourget Airport."
