PANews reported on August 27 that according to Phoenix Technology, OpenAI recently released a job posting, looking for an internal risk technical investigator, with the aim of "strengthening the company's ability to defend against internal security threats." The job posting shows that the responsibilities of this job include analyzing abnormal activities, detecting and reducing internal threats, and working with human resources and legal departments to "investigate suspicious activities."

In 2023, OpenAI became a target of malicious actors when hackers broke into its internal messaging system. The incident was exposed because two people familiar with the matter leaked information to The New York Times. In addition to the hacker group, the job posting seems to indicate that OpenAI is worried about threats from its own employees, although it is unclear what kind of threats OpenAI is guarding against.
